FISHING IN DENMARK & SWEDEN
Coastal Sea-trout fishing holiday breaks and instructional course.

Fishing for Sea trout in and around the Swedish and Danish Coast has to be one of the most exciting prospects of picking up a big fish. Michael one of your guides is holding below a 18lb Sea trout, he has hooked and lost bigger! They average around 2-15lb in the regions we will be taking you to and topping out at approx. 30 lbs., and no licences (except national license, Denmark only) no cost except your airfare and accommodation and guide costs, and its 12 months of the year! Our locations are totally secret and are proven hunting grounds for theses hard fighting fish. Bob Glynn has built up a reputation as a competent and knowledgeable UK Sea-trout fisher, having met Michael Mueller a few years ago in Norway and discussing and putting into practice various techniques and methods we between us feel you will benefit from this knowledge to ensure a wide breadth of knowledge and casting abilities to enhance your Sea-Trout knowledge-ability. This course is for intermediate or advanced fly fishers only.

Target Species

  • Sea Trout
  • Mullet (summer/autumn)
  • Rainbow Trout.
  • Sea run Rainbows (Steelheads).

Best Time of Year
12 months usually but winter months are very productive as well, summer is the hardest time to locate and catch the trout and is only done at night. However April/early May and September through November is prime time for sea trout.

For fishing the Swedish coast prime times is January through mid May, except for long freezing periods as this almost closes the coast and make fishing very difficult if not impossible.

Tackle Required

Rods

  • 9” to 10 ft 7-9 weight rods (saltwater models) are a requirement.

Lines

  • We will advise and set up your rod with a balanced shooting head system for your rod.
  • We will need your Rod make and model, length and line weight. This is a critical operation.

Reels

  • Your reel should be large arbour with a minimum 100 yds. backing and a mono shooting line or coated floating running line.

Leaders / Tippets

  • We prefer very long leaders/tippets up to 2 x rod ending in 0.26mm or 0.235mm, i.e. Loop Salmon monofilament leaders and add first ½m of 0.33mm mono and a good meter of tippet, make sure that you have some extra leaders and tippet material.
  • It will vastly improve your overall casting regarding distance, a line tray is an advantage (but not a must), and we can supply suitable proven flies at additional cost (small collection will be provided at course), see below flies needed. Please order your tying preferences prior your holiday we advise 2 of each pattern. 1 set will be provided within the cost (only for course participants already ordered a course).

  • Rain gear and breathable wind resistant clothing is a must.
